Description
Our Housing Program goal is to permanently end the homelessness of people 55 years and older who live in Multnomah County. For over 30 years NWPP staff have worked to give elderly homeless people hope that they can achieve permanent, affordable and safe housing in their community.
We believe availability of and access to affordable housing is essential to ending poverty and social problems stemming from poverty. Our Housing Program is unique in that it tracks clients housed and enjoys an 85% success rate. It costs about $1,000 to help a client access permanent, affordable housing and it costs about $4,745 to house a person in a community shelter for one year.
