Description
Programs Our goal is to make a difference in the quality of life for our military families, and our programs were developed based on our extensive research into the needs of military families as well as our own experience as active duty families. Operation Homefront has been sensitive to integrate programs alongside those being offered by other agencies, and we strive to achieve the largest impact with the least amount of expended resources. We continuously monitor our programs, liaison with other relief agencies, and measure our success in affecting the quality of life of military families. Operation Homefront offers programs in the areas of emergency services, educational services, and morale programs.
Programs Currently Offered by Oregon's Chapter
Wounded Warriors
Lower income families have a hard time paying for postage to send items to their deployed loved one. We have stepped in and paid this postage, and continue to provide monthly boxes to these members of the military. This helps keep our deployed soldiers' morale at a high level.
All blankets are mailed to Lunshul Regional Medical Center in Germany. This is where our wounded military are medically evacuated to from Iraq and Afghanistan before being evacuated home. These blankets help provide comfort for our wounded on their journey home.
