Interviews by appointment Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phones are answered Monday through Friday, approximately 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Walk-in interviews (no appointment necessary) are held at:
• All Saints Episcopal Church in Hillsboro the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, from 9 a.m. to noon
• Hillsboro Community Senior Center in Hillsboro the first and third Thursday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m.
• St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Tigard the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon.
Description
Shared Housing is a matching and referral service bringing together those who need affordable housing with people who have homes and want help with rent, household chores or personal care. This exchange is beneficial to both the person seeking housing and the one offering it.
Many elderly, disabled and low-to-moderate income homeowners and renters have found that rent and/or services provided through homesharing have been an important factor in enabling them to remain in their homes. Home seekers have found affordable housing at low rent or in exchange for work.
